Kind hearted troops to walk the 'London capital ring' - a 78 mile circular walk around London to raise money for the homeless

Branches Hostel is celebrating 21 years of providing emergency accommodation and support services to homeless single people in Waltham Forest.

As part of the 21st anniversary fundraising events, trustees and friends are undertaking a Sponsored Charity Walk of the capital ring over the summer months.

The capital ring is a 78 mile circular walk around London.

They will start the first leg on Sat April 29.

Friends joined Branches Trustees Winston Reid and Gilbert Stowe as they set off on their 78 mile (126KM) circular walk around London to raise funds for Branches Hostel, which is celebrating 21 years of providing emergency housing and support services to single homeless people in Waltham Forest.

They walked the capital ring over the summer, and they did the first leg of 10.5 miles from Walthamstow Marshes to Woolwich Ferry on Saturday 29 April 2017.

Branches hostel works with a range of partners and specialist staff, providing support for residents who have mental health, drug and alcohol addictions.

They also teach and help residents develop vital life-skills necessary to maintain independence.
