Lee Valley - new partnership with local authority promises great deal for golfers

By Suzi Muston in Events

Aspiring golfers and would be golf champions trying to emulate the likes of Rory McIlroy, will now have the opportunity to play multiple courses thanks to a new partnership.

Lee Valley Golf is offering local golfers in the area the chance to enhance their game by playing on two different 18-hole courses.

From April 1, anyone wishing to play golf will be able to sign up at either Lee Valley Golf Course in Edmonton or Enfield Council’s Whitewebbs Park Golf Course in Enfield. Players will need to be a season ticket member at their club to be eligible for the offer, which enables them to play up to 15 rounds of golf per year at the partner golf club.

Both courses are within easy access of the M25 and are just eight miles apart.

Rick Garvey, Manager of Lee Valley Golf Course said: “This is a great chance for golfers of all abilities to take up clubs at either course in Enfield and widen their horizons. They can hone their game on different courses with new challenges in store, helping to up their game through the experience. With lots of local residents already regularly playing at our Edmonton course, players will be able to interchange between the two courses and try their golfing skills on different terrain.

“Both clubs have something different to offer to players, and we at Lee Valley Golf Course in Edmonton also offer FootGolf - a mixture of golf and football - for those wanting to try something a bit out of the ordinary!”

Membership and ticket prices vary, but for example, a £350 annual ticket enables members to play five days a week, Monday to Friday, at Lee Valley Golf Course and for an extra £50 a year would allow them to use the Whitewebbs course as well.*.

Lee Valley Golf Course in north London is an 18 hole, 5,204 yard, par 67 course. The parkland course takes full advantage of the River Lee and includes large lake water features in its layout. Experienced players will find the narrow fairways and water hazards challenging, whilst the short yardage is helpful for beginners and younger players.

Members and non-members can visit and play on the course.
